There is also a simple and practical way to overcome raised edges or walls of a hot tub or swim spa. A pool lift or spa hoist can lower you in and out of the water safely and comfortably.
We have helped many customers who are elderly, disabled or recovering from injury or illness, find the right product so they can gain convenient access to a hot tub or spa swim in the privacy of their own home. The three most common questions we are asked are…
Hot tubs and Jacuzzis are typically freestanding and above ground therefore you will need a fixed lift/hoist. This is because you will be travelling up and then down into the water. A portable lift/hoist is designed to lift down into inground swimming pools, hot tubs and swim spas - they cannot reach over walls or ledges.
Hot tub hoists and lifts can be installed by being fixed onto a concrete pad or base. Some models require drilling into the ground for secure fixing. Installation can be carried out by one of our fully trained engineering staff; alternatively, you can arrange for your own installation and we will provide full instructions for this.
This is always the burning question. The price of a pool hoist or pool lift starts around £3500 for a basic manual model. This figure then increases to over £5000 for a fully automatic battery powered pool lift which has added features such as waterproof handheld controls and then rises again to over £7000 for more top-of-the-range technically advanced solutions.
The EZ Pool Lift is priced from £3249, is a manually operated fixed lift which is ideal for home hot tubs and swim spas. The lift can be used on in-ground pools and spas but can also accommodate raised edges or wall heights of up to 26". The device is anchored to the floor and comes with a durable and adjustable sling seat.
If budget allows, you may want to consider investing an extra few hundred pounds in the next model up. While the Power EZ™ Lift ™ priced from £3850 is not fully automatic, it does incorporate a battery-powered actuator to smoothly raise and lower the person using the waterproof remote control. Rotation of the lift is manual. Again, this lift is fixed to the floor and can overcome a wall or raised edge of up to 24" (60cm) high.
